2024 BRAVERY CO. SCARF DESIGN COMPETITION

Announcing the FOURTH Bravery Co. design competition! A competition for artists, illustrators, creatives and pattern designers who's artwork could uplift and empower cancer warriors around the world. 

This year, we're on the hunt for 2 x scarf designs to include in our 2025 scarf collection. One will be voted by the public and one will be picked by the Bravery Co. team.

The winning designs must strike that Bravery balance of being both bright & bold plus stylish & sophisticated. These scarves need to make warriors feel beautiful and confident during their toughest days.

We have had some INCREDIBLE creatives who are responsible for some of your most favourite designs. Will you be responsible for our next? 👀 

DATES: 
The competition is open from Tuesday 3rd September 2024 until midnight Tuesday 17th September 2024. 

VOTING:
A shortlist will be announced Thursday 19th September and public voting will be open until Monday 23rd 8PM. Subscribe to the mailing list for your chance to vote!

PRIZE:
Our two winners will receives $300 AUD and 2 of their beautiful scarves (RRP $135 AUD).

HOW TO ENTER:

  • You may enter 3 times
  • Post your artwork on your Instagram grid and tag us with #braveryscarfcomp2024 (Please note we need it posted in your profile feed, not as as story, or else it will disappear after 24 hours.)
  • Artwork needs to be 1:2 ratio (scarf is printed at 100 × 200cm). 
  • Entries can be horizontal or vertical. 
  • You can check out previous years entries by searching the hashtags in instagram #braveryscarfcomp2021 #braveryscarfcomp2022 #braveryscarfcomp2023
  • Please note, the winner will need to submit their artwork as a digital file as a high res jpeg, TIFF, PDF or PSD file at actual size of 100x200cm with at least 150dpi. (More info below)

NITTY GRITTY T&C'S

  • By entering, you're acknowledging that your artwork submission is original and your own.
  • Entries can be existing artwork. It doesn't necessarily need to be created newly for Bravery Co. We just asked the artwork is resized or cropped to fit the ratio required.
  • Please note - if your entry is chosen, your artwork needs to be submitted as a digital file with a minimum of 200dpi at actual size of 100x200cm. If your artwork is handmade, you will be responsible for supplying a high res scan or high res photograph. PDF, TIFF, .AI, high res JPEG or PSD files are all acceptable. 
  • Artists can reside anywhere in the world - you don't need to be Australian. 
  • The artist maintains ownership of their artwork and can continue to sell their art however not in collaboration with other brands making scarves or headwear, or on sites where the artwork could be used to print scarves.
  • Bravery Co. has the rights to sell the artwork as a scarf for 2 years via their website and through our Bravery Co. stockists and partners. 
  • Bravery Co. has the right to use the artwork on the Bravery Co. website and in communications and ads over as social media, emails and P.R. 
  • If you don't have instagram, you can enter by emailing your low-res submission to hello@braveryco.com.au. 

TO MY NON-DIGITAL ARTISTS: 
If you win, your artwork will need to be submitted as a digital file as either a high res jpeg, TIFF, PDF or PSD file at actual size of 100x200cm with at least 150dpi.

Therefore, if your artwork is handmade, you will be responsible for supplying a high res scan or high res photograph. PDF, TIFF, .AI, high res JPEG or PSD files are all acceptable. This will mean scanning or photographing any physical artwork. 

To achieve sufficient DPI and avoid blurry scarf artwork, the minimum size your original canvas could be is 25cmx50cm if you scanned with a 600dpi scanner.

Often scanning can be done at your local Officeworks but please chat to them about their specific scanning capabilities and costs.
